PROJECT: St Dominick
space design were appointed by the National Trust to redevelop a terrace of cottages within a conservation area in the Cotehele Estate.
During the design concept stage, it was noted that the original stones on the front elevation were laid to allow rainwater to penetrate through the wall, causing internal damp. The design solution was to add vertical delabole slates.
The properties were internally refurbished with rear extensions to provide a downstairs bathroom. The roof timbers were replaced and capped before replacement. Log burners and central heating were added along with conservation windows.
